Fraudulent company Sixt Car Rental
by Alicia
I rented a car in Orlando Florida, Sixt Car Rental. I was surprised as I picked up the car @ the airport how easy the transaction was. There was no high pressure to upgrade and use there insurance. I brought proof that I have full coverage with my own insurance company. I brought my own EZ pass. I was also surprised on how reasonable the price was for the BMW that they gave me.
When I returned it I took pictures and thank god I did. They emailed me my receipt with a zero balance and that was the last I heard from them. Until I received a email with pictures of the car and it appears in the photo a smudge which they are claiming is a scratch down to the primer. I wrote a dispute letter, and didn’t hear anything again till February. I sent this matter to the BBB and also forwarded the pictures of proof that there was no damage. Now I have people calling me from Spain trying to collect.
I have done my research after the fact, I wish I never rented from them. Sixt Car Rental is known for submitting false claims if you haven’t purchased their insurance. There was a major lawsuit against them.
Staff from their company are told to find or make damage in order to keep their jobs. Do your research before renting, also take photos before and after. I’m still dealing with this headache. I would rather pay a lawyer for his fees before I pay a scam company for fraudulent charges.
