BWI - fraudulent "damage" charge

by lalopgold
I made the mistake of renting from Sixt at BWI on 11/14/25, returned 11/15/25. I did the walk around with the employee - NO NEW DAMAGE, I even received an email with an attachment confirming no new damage but that if the car was wet or dirty, a secondary inspection could be done. 10 days later I received email about some damage to the wheel rim, 10 days after that a bill for 1437.27. The car was not wet or dirty so the disclaimer about a secondary inspection didn't apply. I've requested time stamped photos twice with no response. I have reported to BBB and will be filing complaints with Attorney General in FL, MD and CA (where I live). So many people say that if they don't pay it goes to collections. Will they charge the card I paid with?
